Fresh Coffee is the best coffee!
Whole bean coffee maintains its freshness much better than coffee that is ground - and, I mean a whole bunch better - your best key to fresh coffee is to have a good coffee grinder to use as you brew. At Beautiful Bean Coffee Roasters, we always prefer to deliver our coffees in whole bean form. So whether you have whole bean or ground coffee, here are a few suggestions that can help hold onto that fresh taste. We want to avoid four things: oxygen, light, heat, and humidity.
- Keep coffee in the on-way valved bags - and after securely sealing, squeeze the remaining air out of the bag.
- Keep coffee away from heat sources, such as direct sunlight, stovetops, and ovens.
- Store beans at room temperature, ideally between 60°F and 75°F.
- Try to use your coffee within 4 weeks of the roast date - vacuum sealing containers such as the Fellows
- We do not recommend freezing your beans as they tend to absorb moisture and odors - if you do freeze, seal in an air tight container, and before opening, let the beans return to room temperature to avoid condensation forming on the beans which leads to moisture contamination.
